Welcome to the open access International Journal of Music Business Research (IJMBR). Our global community of scholars and students is committed to advancing the understanding of the music business landscape. Through rigorous research and analysis, we analyse and critique the business and make contributions to the development of innovative strategies and best practices within the music business.

The IJMBR is a double-blind reviewed academic journal that uses an open access publishing model with the articles made available under a Creative Commons licence. It provides a platform for the presentation of peer-reviewed articles that shed light on the current state of the music business. Music business research is a multidisciplinary field that exists at the intersection of economic, artistic, musical, cultural, social, legal, and technological developments that pertain to this business. Research in this field contributes to our understanding of the creation/production, dissemination/distribution and reception/consumption of music. The IJMBR targets all academics, from students to professors, from around the world and from all disciplines with an interest in research on the music economy.

The journal is published biannually (April & October) in English. The types of contribution to it include: research and review articles, research notes and book reviews. The articles have been thoroughly peer reviewed by international specialists and are promoted to researchers working in the field.

 

This open access journal is generously supported financially by the University of Agder, Norway.

There are no charges for authors to publish articles in this open access journal.
